The best beach in phu quoc vietnam. Phu Quoc - full review of all places

Phu Quoc beaches are the main attraction of the island. There are really a lot of them on a relatively small area, and everyone deserves attention: the huge Long Beach, and the cozy Gan Dau, and the advertised Sao Beach, and the northern Thom Beach. Each of them is good in its own way, but we suggest choosing the best Phu Quoc beach. Go!

Long Beach

As the name implies, the beach is the longest on the island of Phu Quoc. It is better than the rest equipped for tourist recreation: infrastructure is developed, it is not difficult to get from the center of the island. The sand here is fine, yellow, and the water is clear.

Let's start from the northern part of the beach, which is located closer to the center of Duong Dong. The water here is not always clean, as the port is nearby. The approach to the sea is also not particularly convenient: a concrete frame has been built here, which not only spoils the photos, but is simply dangerous. In some places you can see huge rain drains, which are associated with sewers. Needless to say, you don't need to swim here.

However, if you go towards the eastern part of the island, the sea will become cleaner and cleaner, as some parts of the beach belong to hotels located on the first coastline (HanoiHotel, SalindaResortPhuQuocIsland, FamianaResort&Spa). The private beaches of Phu Quoc (Vietnam) can be used by hotel guests, but the administration will not mind if you pass through their territory and choose a convenient place on the shore.

The central part of the beach is the most comfortable and quiet. The entry into the sea is smooth, which will delight families with children.

The infrastructure is developed here, there is garbage, but not much. Getting to the center of Long Beach is not at all difficult: you can take a taxi from the city center (about 45.000 VND or $ 2) or come on foot. As for renting a sun lounger, this service will cost about 100,000 VND ($ 4.5). As a gift, they often give a towel and a drink.

In the central part of the beach you can have lunch in one of the cafes. The prices here are reasonable: dinner on the ocean will cost 230.000 - 450.000 VND ($10-20).

As for the southern segment of the beach, the infrastructure is less developed here, but there are much fewer people. However, lovers of secluded relaxation should hurry up, because now this beach area is being rapidly built up with hotels and tourist centers, so an influx of foreign guests is expected here in the coming years. The highlight of the south end of Long Beach are the large rocks that make a great backdrop for photos.

The disadvantages of Long Beach include a large number of jellyfish and plankton (during their breeding season) that live in the sea. They are not dangerous, but not everyone is pleased to meet them.

As you can see, Long Beach is really huge, and everyone will find their paradise here.

Coordinates on the map: 10.1886053, 103.9652003.

Bai Sao Beach

Many tourists call Bai Sao beach not only the best beach in Phu Quoc, but also in all of Vietnam. Finding an explanation for this is not difficult: the fine sand here is pearl-colored, the water is clear, and tall palm trees grow around the beach, which complete the picture of a paradise place. Bai Sao beach itself is not particularly long: it can be walked around in 20-30 minutes.

Since Bai Sao is located in the southeast of Fukuoka, bad weather and, as a result, high waves, are rare here. The most favorable months to visit are March, April, May.

As for swimming itself, the entry into the sea is shallow, and in order for an adult to swim, it is necessary to go several tens of meters deep into the sea. But for families with children, this is a big plus: you can safely let your child go for a short walk along the coast.

However, there are also disadvantages. Bai Sao Beach in Fukuoka is a popular holiday destination, so there is always garbage here, albeit in different quantities. Unfortunately, and locals, and tourists are not particularly careful and do not care about the cleanliness of the beach. Oddly enough, it is especially dirty here in the off season (November-January), as garbage sails from the coast of Cambodia. But in the high season, the cleanliness is monitored by hotel workers.

The right half of Bai Sao Beach is wilder and more likely to encounter rubbish. But the left one is intended for tourists, so today there are several cafes and restaurants here. Also, only on the left side of Bai Sao Beach on Phu Quoc Island you can rent a sun lounger. There is a toilet and a shower.

Coordinates on the map: 10.046741, 104.035139.

How to get there: Sao Beach is located somewhat away from the main infrastructure of the island. You can get here by bike or car. Since the end of 2018, the "Hop on - Hop off" tourist bus has also been calling at Bai Sao.

Ong Lang

This is a small but very cozy and beautiful beach. It is located on the west coast of Fukuoka. Unlike other beaches of the island, the sea and the coastal area are really clean here, and the entry into the sea is smooth. The sandy strip is quite narrow, but this disadvantage is compensated by the lack of people and a large number of coconut palms on the shore. The sand is yellow, with admixtures of small coral fragments.

Infrastructure is developed on Ong Lang Beach: hotels (La Casa, May Fair Valley), cafes and restaurants, massages and ATMs are located here. A distinctive feature of this place is the opportunity to go scuba diving, because there is a clear sea and a rich water world.

It is worth going here in March, April or May. It is safe to say that this is the best beach according to tourists.

How to find on the map: 10.286359, 103.9153568.17.

Vung Bau Beach

A small beach in the northwest of the island is a strip of selected soft sand, stretching for several kilometers to the north. Here, unlike most of Fukuoka's beaches, there is no garbage, and the water is crystal clear. Entry into the water is smooth, and the sand is bright yellow.

The southern part of Vung Bao can be considered wild, as it is completely empty and there is no infrastructure. In the north, things are a little better - there are a couple of cafes and hotels. It is possible to lie down in the shade of trees or in the sun - there is enough space.

Now the beach is not particularly popular, but the construction of the first tourist facilities has already begun here.

Mui Ganh Dau

The beach is small and far from the cleanest. You can find it in the north of Fukuoka Island, 28 km from the capital (marked on the map). The most convenient way to get here is by bike - during the trip you will see picturesque fishing villages, local residents and how they live.

This beach is almost wild - there is only one restaurant and a hotel, and there are always few people. The sand is fine, yellow in color, the water is cloudy. The entry into the water is smooth, but the sandy strip is narrow, during high tides there is even nowhere to stay.

Mui Gan Zau is surrounded by forests and mountains, so there are rarely storms here, and bad weather bypasses this place. The main plus of the beach is picturesque views.

Thom Beach

It is located in the extreme northwest of Fukuoka. This is a very quiet and calm beach, surrounded by thickets of hazel. You can get here on a dirt road by bike or car. There is practically no infrastructure, but there are still a couple of family hotels.

The sand on the beach is light yellow, and the sea is shallow, low tides are noticeable. Unlike the well-known Bai Sao, there are very few people here, which means that the amount of garbage is less, but plastic bottles and bags are still found.

So far, there are no large hotels on the territory of Thom Beach, but a large tourist center is planned to be built in the near future. Therefore, wildlife lovers should hurry up.

As you can see, Phu Quoc beaches are really beautiful and good in their own way. If you want to relax your mind and body, consider this island as your next travel destination!

People go to Phu Quoc first of all for a beach holiday. Which Fukoka beaches are worth visiting? Which ones have infrastructure, and which ones are wild and neglected? Which beaches are clean, and where is the real garbage dump. And most importantly - which beach in Fukuoka is the best. Find the answers to all these questions in our carefully compiled selection. As a bonus, I’ll tell you about the most terrible beaches of the island, where you shouldn’t even go out of curiosity.

Phu Quoc Island boasts 140 kilometers of beaches of varying degrees of cleanliness and service. We have prepared an overview of the seven best beaches in Phu Quoc, based on personal experience accommodation on the island and reviews of tourists for 2017 - 2018. The beaches of Phu Quoc Island are characterized by a smooth descent into the water and a small wave, so they are ideal for relaxing with the whole family.

Long Beach Phu Quoc (Long Beach Phu Quoc)

This beach is the first to welcome guests of the island, as it starts in the capital, the city of Zuong Duong, and stretches south to the town of Anthoy. Long Beach (long beach - long beach) fully justifies its name: its length is 20 kilometers. A small rocky area divides it into two parts - South Long Beach and North Long Beach. The beach is very beautiful, with golden sand and a smooth entrance to the water. The area near hotels and resorts is being cleaned, so the state of the coast is simply excellent.

Ong Lang Phu Quoc beach

Ong Lang Beach in Phu Quoc is a popular and developed beach about two kilometers long with many resorts and cafes. The Ong Lang area is suitable for a relaxing holiday or long-term residence; bungalows and rooms are rented in the area. The sand on the beach is yellow, fine-grained, the water is clear, blue-green. Several places have rocky outcroppings with rich underwater life that can be seen while snorkelling. Larch and palm trees, many weeping willows and poplars grow along the shore.

Khem beach Phu Quoc

Khem Beach, also known as Bai Khem, is another Phu Quoc beach with excellent sand and clean water which is not easy to get to. Khem Beach, with perfect white sand, is known as one of the most beautiful places throughout the island, and is freely available only to guests of the luxurious Marriott hotel. But you can get to the northern part of the beach, where there is free access to water, as well as a small fishing village.

Bai Sao Phu Quoc Beach (Sao Beach, Sao Beach Phu Quoc)

Bai Sao Beach is one of the three most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, and the top beaches in Southeast Asia. It is located on the east coast of Phu Quoc in the southern part of the island. This respectable place seems to have stepped out of a picture of tropical bliss. An excellent location for a family vacation, relaxing lying in the shade of an umbrella and evenings with a glass of wine in the rays of the setting sun. On the beach, small as flour White sand, and the water is so clear that even at a depth you can see everything that happens at the bottom.

Starfish beach Phu Quoc

Starfish beach (Beach with starfish in Phu Quoc) is located in the north of the island, about 20 kilometers from the capital of the island, Zuong Duong. It is not easy to get to it, but the impressions of the stay fully compensate for the difficult road. The beach has white fine sand, and large shallows, with a huge number of starfish at the bottom.

Be sure to bring a mask with a snorkel for scuba diving, without them it will be difficult to enjoy the wildlife. There are several restaurants on stilts on the beach, boardwalk buildings jut out into the sea, and lunch overlooking the water can be a nice highlight of the day.

Vung Bau beach Phu Quoc

Vung Bau Beach (Vũng Bầu, Vung Bau) is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc Island, north of Ong Lang Beach, 20 kilometers from the capital of the island, Zuongdong. This is a deserted wild beach where you can sunbathe in what your mother gave birth to and not be constrained by observers around. Such freedom has a downside, in the form of a dirty beach, but the beach is long enough, and finding a clean piece is not a problem.

Zai Beach (Vinperl beach, Bai Dai beach)

Bai Dai Beach, or "Zai Beach" to use Russian transcription, is located between Vung Bau Beach and Gandau Village on the west coast of Phukok. This beach delights visitors to the Vinperl resort. It is almost impossible to enter the territory from the side of the resort, even despite the law of Vietnam. You can pretend to be a guest, but they have special hotel cards, and you can only hope for luck. Despite the established order, some part of the beach is open to everyone and you can have a great time here.

Anti-rating of beaches.

The dirtiest and stinkiest beach on the island is of course Cua Canh, it is located near the village of the same name and there is nothing to do there. Dirty beach, heaps of garbage and broken boats. We do not advise you to go, it is better to spend time on the beaches from our selection, so you will leave only a good impression of your vacation in Fukuoka.

Phu Quoc Island is just beginning its large-scale tourism development, yes, it is not a completely wild place here, but it can hardly be called fully developed either. This is how it can attract the attention of travelers who want to see the untouched beauty of wild tropical nature and bask in the sun on half-empty beaches, sometimes even with white sand. Phu Quoc is an island located in the south of Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand.

Great place for beach holiday our winter. Here, from the end of November to April, beautiful weather prevails for a measured beach holiday. You should not go here from May to October. The sea during this period becomes exciting. And streams of water pour from the sky, which at a certain period fill the streets of the city and you almost have to swim along them. It looks like this. In this article I will tell you about the beautiful and deserted beaches of Fukuoka Island, where in some places there is even white sand. Sometimes even like from an advertisement for a bounty chocolate bar.

  • Phu Quoc Island's main beach is Long Beach it is along it that the bulk of all hotels, cafes, restaurants, and shops are located, and all other beaches need to be reached around the island by bike or taxi.
  • Seas in season (November to April) mostly calm in the west, warm, clean - a great place for a quiet beach holiday. Sandy gentle entry into the sea. Convenient place to stay with children.
  • The scorching sun can ruin your vacation, if on the first day you go swimming from 11 am to 2 pm without any sunscreen or cape, but even with protection at this time, it is better not to appear in the sun. With swimming, it is better not to overdo it, because the sun reflects even more strongly from the water. Sunset is approaching around 6:00 pm.
  • In many Asian countries, beach fleas and flies are found on the beaches., but do not be alarmed, their bites can be avoided if you follow the simplest rules. Lie on a bed or sun lounger. Stand on the wet sand in the waves. Move, when walking, they will not have time to bite you, fleas are very lazy creatures. Zhenya wrote an article about flea and insect bites, where he tells what local ointments can help relieve itching, if you are still bitten -
  • All beaches are urban and they do not belong to hotels, know this if you are not allowed to go to the sea. There are, of course, expensive hotels with a closed area through which the guards may not let you pass. However, no one can forbid you to walk along the beach. The phrase "Call policy" (call the police) - acts on them soberingly if you walk along the beach, and do not break into the main gate of the hotel

  • To find these beaches on the ground, get a SIM card where the Internet will be. Which SIM card and what tariffs to buy in Fukuoka. Use Google map, which marked almost all the beaches of the island.

I wanted to post a separate video for each beach, but I decided that it would be better to give a link to the playlist:

BeachLongBeach(long beach)

This beach is located on the western side of the island. Basically, most of the hotels in Fukuoka were built in close proximity to it. It is here that the whole tourist life of the island takes place, there are many cafes, restaurants, shops. This is the main densely populated beach of the island. There are a lot of people with. Tourists, service personnel, hotels, the river carrying out city garbage - all this is not good for cleanliness.

Long Beach is quite long with a gentle sandy entrance. The sand on it is yellow, in some places the beach is narrow due to the buildings of different hotels close to the sea. The length of the beach, according to various sources, is from 10 to 15 km. Now Long Beach is divided into many small beaches. For example, the well-known golden sand beach, episode, sunset beach - this is all one Long Beach.

In the high season, with the influx of tourists, between December and February, biting plankton breeds in Fukuoka water. The reaction to it in people is different: from light biting, to allergic reactions. It is not possible to predict the reaction in advance, but in most cases itching disappears 5-10 minutes after leaving the sea. But plankton does not always happen, which is very pleasing.

Sun loungers in most places in Fukuoka are paid, saw the price of 100 dong (300 rubles) for one day, and it's free if you live in a hotel on the beach. Comparing with Cambodia, this is a little expensive, because. there, the price for a sun lounger on the beach was equivalent to buying something in a cafe, it could even be water for $ 1.

Episode and Golden Sand Beach - part of Long Beach

Since Long Binch is very long (not for nothing it was called that), some parts of it cannot be seen without a vehicle (scooter or taxi). Since 2017, the northern part of the beach (right on the territory of the Sanset Sonato hotel) has become famous for its new project Episode. Here you can see the remains of art objects created by the builders of Kazantip and partially destroyed by Episode. Access to the beach is paid, but you can go by water from the Golden Sand Beach bar, as, I remind you the entire coastline of Fukuoka is urban and cannot be private!

Beach episode coordinates on google map: https://goo.gl/maps/65NJeFb41XK2

Episode boasts amazing buildings that have already become a new attraction in Fukuoka. They can be seen and captured on the camera, and completely free of charge, you just need to get there. And to argue a little with the guards, proving that 30 meters of the beach in Vietnam is a public place and cannot be a private area.

Unfortunately, these fish are no more - they were demolished with some other objects.

Right behind the fence from the Episode, there is another interesting beach with an old Zhiguli and many objects for an unusual photo session. This is one of the places in Fukuoka with free sun loungers. This Golden Sand Beach- golden sand beach Cafes, music and a great place to meet the sunset:

Finding a beach on a Google map is also not difficult: https://goo.gl/maps/Pj6hgrnULY92

Also quite a nice place with beach parties - This is Sunset Beach. There is a bar of the same name on it, where performances of Vietnamese and foreign DJs are held daily. The prices in the bar are slightly higher than the average city prices, but quite normal for the beach. Free sun loungers and relaxed atmosphere

Bai Sao Beach (Sao Beach orBaiSao)

To Bai Sao beach you need to go to the south of the island, from the city of Zuong Dong about 20-25 km. You can rent a scooter, you can take a taxi (by the way, a taxi costs 8,000-10,000 VND for 1 km). The main road leading to it is of good quality, only the last 2 km at the exit is a completely bad dirt road. It was very inconvenient to ride a bike because of the piled stones, and taxi drivers, buses were constantly overtaking and raising dust. Therefore, if you go there once, just to see the beach, it is better to choose a taxi, but if difficulties do not scare you, then:

The first impression of the beach is amazing:

  • straight eyes cuts from the snow-white sand
  • blue bay (everything as in advertising)
  • palm trees with hanging swings

I have never seen such a beautiful beach.

Coordinates of Bai Sao beach in Phu Quoc on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/wjY3ppYMjXN2

However, upon closer inspection, Bai Sao Beach is not at all deserted. There are several hotels on it and guests are sunbathing on sun loungers. Other tourists constantly come from different parts of the island to see and capture the beauty of the beach. Therefore, the photo on the swing turns into a small queue, because everyone wants a great shot on such an amazing beach. By the way, you will be charged 20,000 VND for the swing, but you can do without extortion.

There is some debris in the bushes between the hotels and in the tidal wave, which greatly spoils the view. The dirt is usually removed by hotel workers, but during the high season, the sea throws out new garbage daily. Perhaps you need to come to this beach early in the morning to enjoy the peace and tranquility. You can also go a little to the side or go to the neighboring Paradise beach - about it a little lower.

The sea seemed transparent due to the white sand, however, it was exciting that day. Also, our guys stayed to sunbathe in the shade, and they were badly bitten by midges.

We would not live here in the outskirts, except for a couple of hotels and cafes, there is nothing else here. There is no infrastructure, this is a place for a short relaxation and immersion in oneself, however, many residents of megacities strive for this, for a two-week solitude from the whole world. Here is a review recently left by guests of Bai Sao Beach in Fukuoka:

Firstly, the road is personally from us, and we are online - it costs about 500,000, and secondly, these most popular swings are paid, each for 20,000, while no one is around - of course you can take a picture quickly. But if you approach, a ton of negativity will fall out on you, like “no, don’t sit here, you can’t sit here” and just almost force you out of there. The sea is dirty when you walk along the beach with diapers and dead fish under your feet. When you sit on the beach (and you can’t sit everywhere if you don’t take a sun lounger for 100.000) you are driven away from good place into the dirty, where even an old toothbrush is lying on the sand. Small children walk around with garbage bags, they say, they collect garbage, and ask for money, like in Indian slums. In general, this, I don’t even have words

Paradiso Beach – Paradiso Restaurant

This is truly a heavenly beach. The beach is located next to the hotel. You can go through safely, leaving the bike in the parking lot - the cost is 100,000 dong. But with this money you can order a cocktail at the bar, so in fact it's just a deposit. Here is the same clean white sand, but unlike Bai Sao:

  • the beach is regularly cleaned here and very well cleaned
  • free swing
  • no beggars
  • clean shower and toilet

Bai Ong Lang (BaiOngLang)

The beach lies north of the town of Zuong Dong on the west coast of the island. There are also cafes and bars here; one cannot call it secluded, in some way it resembles Long Beach. However, all the beaches here are good and each in its own way.

Back in the 2018 season, it could be recommended for a quiet family holiday with children. But now there is construction almost everywhere in this area. Noisy. Some of the beaches were closed to guests. In general, the area is still better, as it is located above the river, so there is much less dirt in the water. Biting plankton also rarely appears here.

The coordinates of the central beach of On Lang on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/quYB62N6DwL2

However, vacationers and guests of Phu Quoc Island also prefer neighboring beaches, such as the beach of the Mango Bay Hotel, where tourists are quietly let through. How is the beach enviably different from the city limits of Long Beach, where not every hotel welcomes guests

.

Bai Vung Bao

This beach is located north of the city of Zuong Dong, about 10-12 km., You can’t get there on foot, a taxi or a bike will help you with this. Having moved to him from the main road, we realized that he was far away, and the road was not very good, we had to shake on the gravel road and such red earth.
The hotels are located far from the beach, so there are not so many guests here, everyone comes, who is on what - scooters, taxis or bicycles.

At the same time, it is not crowded, there is one cafe on it with its own sun loungers and an offer to settle down with them and order something delicious, probably when ordering you will not be required to pay for the sun lounger itself. However, no one bothers to move to one side and sit in the shade of trees.

Bai Dai beachBai Dai Beach)

You can get to this beach without reaching the Vinperl water park, because. then everything is blocked off and closed by the park and the construction of the hotel before it. If you mark a point on the map and driving up, just to this construction site of a large hotel in front of the park, turn onto the paved road to the left (if you drive from Zuon Dong), along which you can get to the beach not so far.

Approaching the beach, we saw on the right hand the ennobled territory of some hotel, but there was no one on the left, however, builders began to arrive a little later, apparently from the same construction site, to swim and relax. Perhaps if you arrive there in the morning, then there will be no one else and you can sunbathe and swim as you please. The entry into the sea at the time of our arrival seemed very shallow, we had to go further away to swim, while trees grow on the shore, under which there is a shadow.

Bai Gang Dau (GanhDaubeach)

This beach is located in the upper part of the island on the northwest coast, from the city of Zuong Dong to go somewhere 27-29 km.

You drive straight along the road past a Vietnamese village and find yourself on this beach, it is quite small in size, there are many fishing boats, there is a cafe, but it was dirty with us, we didn’t stay on it, took a photo and left. From this beach you can see several islands of Cambodia, below in the photo you can see them in the distance. If you drive a little further, along the same road, you can see a Buddhist temple.

Beach coordinates on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/HDdsMqRuZoK2

Bai Rush Wem (BaiRachVem)

This is one of the most popular distant beaches. It is worth coming here to admire the beautiful starfish, of which there are quite a lot. Therefore, Starfish Beach has become a must-see during. Yes, and by taxi and bike, hundreds of tourists come every day to look at starfish. This is the second most famous beach of Phu Quoc Island (just behind Bai Sao).

Phu Quoc starfish beach coordinates on Google map: https://goo.gl/maps/PG5WDDXVL3U2

It is only better to go to the left along the beach, so that it is clean, because. when we arrived, we saw where the cafes were, it was very dirty. And when we moved a little further away, we were able to enjoy a stunning view of the sea, starfish, palm trees.

Bai Thom

This beach is about 36 km away. from the city of Zuong Dong to the northeast of the island, although there are cafes here, the beach itself seemed deserted. By the way, the Cambodian coast is also perfectly visible from here.

A great place to sunbathe in what my mother gave birth to and do all sorts of different pranks right from the shade under a palm tree. The main thing is not to forget to lie on a towel or a blanket, remember about fleas, I think they will be happy with your naked body on a deserted beach. Closer to the right end of the beach, you can walk along the bridge to the nearest island to admire the wildlife.

Bai Khem (Khembeach)

This beach is located on the southeast side of Phu Quoc Island. On the larger territory of this beach there is an expensive Marriot hotel, the minimum cost of a room in which per day will cost 27-30 tr. Security does not allow access to the beach through the hotel. Just, in our chat about Fukuoka, suggested that you can safely walk around the territory and along the beach for a deposit of $ 25. The deposit can be spent both in the bar and in the restaurant.

And if you want to get to the free part of the beach, you will have to leave the road and drive through the wild wilderness, but it's worth it, you can sunbathe and swim to your heart's content.

Beach coordinates on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/J5e4tmfEsaS2

And finally, the most beautiful sunset, of which there are an amazing number and you can admire them almost every day in the warm season.

Come to Phu Quoc Island, admire the sea, the sun, palm trees and such beautiful beaches, write your impressions in the comments if you have already been here or questions if something is not clear. Have a nice trip and rest in this amazing place.

Hello, thanks for the article! I'm going to spend the winter in Phu Quoc, tell me where it is better to settle. I don’t want to live in a tourist place, but it’s important that you can rent a small apartment (such as a guest house or home stay), there are shops, a market and the Internet are available. Which beach is the best to visit? Thanks guys! Have a good day!

Good afternoon. Well, there isn't much choice. The main feature of Fukuoka is the location of the market. There is no good beach near it. Since a river flows through the market, and ships, boats and mud float along with it. Therefore, you will have to settle in the distance: either He Lang is quieter and cheaper here, or on Long Beach. In any case, walking distance from the sea and the market is difficult to achieve. If you don’t find accommodation yourself, I can recommend reliable guys who helped us move in. And lately a lot of resellers have formed on the island

Guys, hello! Thank you very much for the detailed reports on wintering in Fukuoka, I study with pleasure) We are planning to go there in early November for 3 months. I was very worried about the review of Vinsky by people who were vacationing in Fukuoka this May, about the widespread household garbage on the beaches, in the water. What are you lying and swimming like in the garbage ... (((
Personally, we spent the last wintering on Koh Samui and in Nha Trang, that there, that there was also garbage, in Nha Trang there were more places. But this did not beg for the rest of the advantages of beautiful beaches and the warm sea, in no case did it create a feeling of a garbage dump. Otherwise, we would not have stayed there with the child. Therefore, I want to ask you, as eyewitnesses of the beaches in the season, how were things with the garbage?

  1. Good afternoon. Thanks for the feedback))
As for garbage, I will not say that there is more of it here than anywhere else. During a storm and if the current is not successful, some of the city's garbage can get on the beach, especially during the rainy season, but as a rule the beaches are clean. In addition, if the western coast is stormy, then there are quiet beaches in the east and vice versa, so that there is definitely a suitable place on the island.

I started to answer, and then I thought that it was a whole story, so here is a new article, about my observations about dirt, garbage and poverty:

The first thing you want to see in Vietnam is the city of love, passion and flowers - Dalat.
Here is the most unusual and entertaining house "Hang Nga" or "Crazy house", which has no equal in the world. It strikes with its unpredictable design and the absence of any system. It does not have a single right angle, but a lot of rooms, corridors, fascinating transitions. A fabulously beautiful building, which tourists aptly dubbed a madhouse, is inhabited by fantastic images of people and animals. In one year it is visited by at least a million tourists.

In this post, I will talk about the best beaches in Fukuoka and make my personal ranking of beaches. Also here you will find tips on choosing a place to come on vacation and a map of Fukuoka beaches in Russian.

In general, Phu Quoc is a beautiful tropical island, but it has its own characteristics. Firstly, tourism here began to develop quite recently and at a very fast pace, because of this, in many places there is construction, dust and dirt. This is no longer a tropical paradise where you are alone with nature, although in general the environment is good - there are no industries. Secondly, there is a real problem with garbage and sewage, the Vietnamese do not seem to have figured out what to do with it with the influx of a large number of people. Yes, if the staff of a nearby hotel looks after the beach, it will be simply gorgeous. And if there is nobody's territory, then all the garbage will be raked there.

I think it will take a few years and Phu Quoc will turn into the main resort of Vietnam (like Phuket in Thailand, where tourism has been developing for a long time). In the meantime, you have the opportunity to enjoy the almost empty beaches of this island. And I will tell you which beach in Fukuoka to choose.

The best beaches Fukuoka is mostly located on its west, north and northwest side, but there are two posh places to visit on the east coast. These are the small beaches of Sao and Kem. They are small, but very picturesque!

Sao beach

A cozy bay about one and a half kilometers long with incredibly white sand, as fine as flour. There are really heavenly landscapes here, curved palm trees on the shore, mountains around, overgrown with tropical forest ...

Bai Sao is considered the most beautiful beach of Phu Quoc, it is the hallmark of the island. All the more surprising are the heaps of garbage that are found in some places along the beach. Apparently, there is such a feature of the winds and currents that garbage is washed ashore in certain seasons.

Plus, add to this the crowds of people who come on their own or with a tour, jet skis, bananas and all the attributes of a popular beach. So you should not expect a bounty bounty from Sao Beach. The best part of it is on the left side at the very edge of the bay.

The entrance to the water is gentle, but there are small waves, but the water is very warm - the kids will like it. On the shore there are several overpriced beach cafes (it is better to buy food in advance at a store located at the turn from the main road to the beach), a toilet, a shower, you can rent sunbeds and an umbrella (100,000 dong). It's better to come in the morning: firstly, it's not hot, and secondly, the tourists haven't arrived yet :)

There are no hotels on the first line on Bai Sao, everything is a little in the depths, but I don’t recommend spending a vacation here either.

Bai Kem

Bai Kem Beach is located just south of Bai Sao and is a bay a little less than a kilometer long. There is an active construction of luxury hotels here now with all the ensuing consequences, it is not so easy to get to the beach (according to the latest reviews, now only hotel guests on the beach can get to the beach).

In general, Bai Kem has the same white sand, the same picturesque palm trees on the shore, but there are no people. But all this beauty is available only to hotel guests. In the meantime, there is an active construction, I do not advise to settle there. even if there is such a possibility.

Long Beach

Long Beach is the most developed beach in Phu Quoc. Its length is about 20 kilometers, so everyone will find a place for themselves. The part north of the airport and up to the city of Duong Dong is more developed, along the road there you will find all the tourist infrastructure in the form of cafes, restaurants, travel agencies, ATMs, hotels. Part south of the airport is just under construction, and although there are already luxurious hotels with a large territory, but otherwise you will be on the outskirts with the accompanying construction landscape.

Long Beach has golden sand of medium size, a gentle entry into the water (in some places a little sharper), the purity of the water in the sea depends on the waves and weather. During the calm there was clear water.

Unfortunately, in some places there is garbage, and sewage flows directly into the sea.

The advantage of Long Beach is the proximity of the city of Duong Dong, there is a night market, a fish market and several temples. And in general it is interesting to look at the life of a small Vietnamese town. But the hotel is still worth choosing a little further from the city, a good beach starts from Saigon Phu Quoc Resort & Spa and to the south.

Long Beach

In my opinion, Long Beach is the best beach in Phu Quoc for a vacation. Yes, perhaps a little less picturesque than Bai Sao or Ong Lang, but still quite cozy. Plus, the developed infrastructure compensates for some of the disadvantages. You can easily find a bungalow on the first line and enjoy your vacation.

Ong Lang Beach

A cool long beach north of Duong Dong, it can be conditionally divided into several sections, and between them there are rocky capes. Here, perhaps, the cleanest water that we met on all the beaches of Fukuoka.

Ong Lang has fine light sand, which is pleasant to walk on. The most picturesque stretch of the beach is located near the Coco Palm Beach Resort & Spa.

The big plus of this beach is the almost complete absence of tourists, there are also many cool hotels on the first line, all of the bungalow type. A chic place for honeymooners and lovers of tranquility!

The infrastructure is rather poorly developed, a little further down towards the main road you will find cafes and restaurants, otherwise the place is rustic quiet.

Cua Can Beach

The beach is located next to the river of the same name, which flows into the sea. Rafting on the Cua Can River is a popular pastime among tourists.

The beach is almost wild, there are no tourists, only some locals. Nearby are some backwaters and estuaries, and a small community lives. Might be dirty. There are only a couple of hotels in the vicinity, and a few cafes along the way from the main road. Suitable for lovers of complete solitude :)

Vung Bau beach

You can get to the southern part of the bay only through the territory of some hotel, we were in the northern part, the one closer to the cape.

Clean and remote beach, quite picturesque. The coastline is narrow, there are almost no people, only those who came here specially by bike or taxi, and a few guests of local bungalows. The entrance to the water is gentle, the water is very clean and transparent, there are sun loungers and a tire on a rope instead of a swing :)

There are several bungalow hotels on Vung Bau, all on the first line. You can eat only in hotel cafes.

The chic beach of the five-star Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc. This hotel is a whole city with many buildings, villas, bungalows, swimming pools, golf courses, spa centers, gyms, a huge green landscaped area where tuk-tuks run. The Vinpearl Land Amusement Park is nearby, and the hotel also provides free airport pickup.

Bai Dai Beach

Bai Dai Beach has fine yellow sand, the entrance to the water is gentle, and the sea is very clean, which is why holidays here are ideal for families with children.

Gan Dau

The village of Gan Dau is located in the extreme northwest of Phu Quoc, from here it is literally a few kilometers to the islands of Cambodia, they are perfectly visible from the coast.

On the western side there is a beautiful but muddy beach with cafes on the shore and many boats in the water. Locals eat here mostly.

If you drive through the village (you will pass a rather smelly fish market along the way) and go to north coast near the Peppercorn Hotel beach resort there will be a nice beach. During our visit, the water was not very clear, but almost nobody.

Phu Quoc starfish beach

The beach near the village of Rat Vem is also called the beach with starfish. One of the best beaches in Phu Quoc and well worth the trip. Known primarily for its marine life, with which you can take a memorable photo.

And you can sunbathe here, white sand, clean water and a gentle entrance to the sea are good attributes and help in this matter. I recommend going only in the high season (from November to April), according to reviews, at other times there are a lot of algae and garbage that no one cleans up, plus the dirt road is washed out after rain. And also move as far to the right as possible, there are fewer people there, and there are more chances to see starfish.

There is a restaurant on a wooden platform over the water with inflated prices, more infrastructure and no.

The beaches of Phu Quoc Island:

Bai Sao - paradise beach in Phu Quoc?

Are you dreaming of heaven on earth and the travel agency told you that he is in Bai Sao? Do not be fooled - the beach is cool, but quite on the bounty. Many call it the best beach in Phu Quoc and in all of Vietnam, but we do not think so.

Tourists are brought to the center of the beach. These are predominantly Vietnamese and Chinese - social creatures, where they all flounder in the water in one heap.

To the right, towards the stones, there is an almost deserted beach, and it is not so clean there. Only single couples come here. The left side is more habitable: there are cafes, hotels, they sell fruit. Near the restaurant "Paradiso" - slender palm trees leaning towards the water. Most of the Chinese live here: who will miss a photo shoot in fluttering chiffon dresses on a romantic swing?

But even on the "best" beach in Vietnam, you will see a landfill. The Vietnamese do not pay attention to the garbage. Why export? We just throw it into the bushes.

We were very lucky: on the beach we did not find an abundance of sunbeds, inflatable trampolines, jet skis, boats and other activities. They did not understand why they were not there, because they wrote something else on the Internet. Get away from tourists, it will be quiet. But rubbish! In general, I liked the beach, but there was a feeling of annoyance after visiting. We did not return to Bai Sao again and we cannot call it the best beach in Fukuoka.

But enough about the cons. Here are the pros of the beach: clear water, fine white sand, very gentle entrance (good for small children), picturesque nature, almost privacy, there are rudiments of infrastructure (resorts, cafes and restaurants, paid showers and even a free toilet).

How to get there. A taxi costs 300-400,000 VND, but it is cheaper and more interesting to rent a bike (150,000 VND per day). There are also excursions. The distance from the main Long Beach is approximately 25 km.

So you went to the beach. Two roads lead to Bai Sao: one to the south of the beach (behind the stones) - and here is a real dump. The other - to the civilized part. Both roads are concreted. The second is very narrow, they can hardly drive apart on it. As a result - traffic jams. The Vietnamese, in their favorite manner, simply did not finish the last section of the road 500 meters long.

Hotels on Bai Sao Beach

There are resorts and guesthouses on Bai Sao Beach, but for some reason they are not presented in online booking systems. On Roomguru.ru we found only My Lan Guesthouse and The Beach House An Thoi (right by the sea) - such things. And on Booking.com there are hotels further away - Phu Nam House and Hanh Mai Hotel.

Long Beach - the most comfortable beach in Phu Quoc

Connoisseurs of convenience will love Long Beach. Probably 95% of the hotels of the entire island are concentrated along the beach! You can find food without getting up from the sunbed - more precisely, she will find you herself. In addition to peddlers, there are many cafes both on the beach and along the road.

Many scold the beach - they say, it is dirty and noisy. We didn't observe anything like that. Let's just say: the beach is the most ordinary, it does not cause emotions. Yellow sand, clear water. There are no waves, the sunset is gentle.

Minuses: although the beach is municipal, some hotels do not allow you to settle on their territory - they drive you away. Plus there is little shade, and the beach strip is very narrow. Few civilized outlets to the sea - you either need to go around, or with a fight or secretly pass through the resorts (but almost always the guards will prevent you). As you can see, there are many inconveniences - this beach cannot be called the best in Fukuoka either.

Hotels on Long Beach in Phu Quoc

Long Beach has such a variety of hotels and resorts that it's hard to choose. Many tours are sold in hotels on Long Beach.

  • The Hill Resort 3*. Nice new hotel. There is a pool, breakfast, quiet. The price is $40.
  • Miana Resort 2*. Garden hotel. The best of all where we lived in Fukuoka. Cozy bungalows surrounded by flowers. Outdoor bathroom, large swimming pool, royal breakfasts. The price is $42.
  • Cozy Resort. Spacious bungalows surrounded by plants. There is no pool. The price is $25.
  • Sailing Hotel 2*. Cozy breakfast hotel with 70's style rooms. The price is $25.

Rush Vem - the most beautiful beach in Fukuoka!

Bãi Rạch Vẹm- this is a beach with starfish, which are countless here. This is what we consider the most beautiful and impressive in Fukuoka, this is the best beach on the island! There is unusually white and fine sand. From such beauty, we were stunned and constantly photographed the beach.

Rush Vem is more suitable for admiring nature and watching starfish than for a beach holiday in the traditional sense. There is no infrastructure here, except for one seafood restaurant on the water. The stretch of beach suitable for recreation is narrow and small. The sea is shallow. There is almost no shade - only 4-5 pavilions and one shed (former cafe). Therefore, there are very few people!

Probably, we would give the title of a paradise beach to Rush Vem. Just do not go to the left side, so as not to be disappointed :)

There are many pluses. Here are the cons: about 5 km to the beach - dusty and bumpy dirt road. There is no infrastructure! For inexpensive food, you need to go to the track - take food with you.

Where is it located and how to get there. You can get to the beach with starfish in Phu Quoc by taxi or bike along the highway to the north of the island - use MAPS.ME to navigate. Don't miss the huge sign with a photo of the beach. A valiant Vietnamese woman stands nearby and sends everyone to the beach. If you go straight, you will come to a picturesque fishing floating village, which we also recommend visiting.

Bai Thom

Bai Thơm- another beach with starfish in Fukuoka. It is not at all as impressive as Rash Vem, and is almost not suitable for swimming. The sand is yellow. At low tide, you can see marine life: clams, starfish, crabs, some corals. There is no infrastructure, except for a cafe. Come to that section of the beach that is near the island - the rest of the parts are terrible.

Bai Khem

To the beach Bai Khem leads two roads: one through the chic Marriott 5 * hotel, where only guests are allowed, the other through the forest. Only locals come here. When we were on the beach, a cheerful company of Vietnamese was walking, there were many children.

The beach is not equipped, there is nowhere to spread a towel. The sand is yellow. A lot of trash. But the beach area near the hotel is well-maintained and clean - after all, a five-star resort!

Duong Dong beach

This beach is next to the lighthouse. We do not recommend swimming here - the port is nearby. Although the locals do not disdain. People come to the pier to eat and watch the sunset.
