How many planes crash in a year. Recent Plane Crashes: Terrible Aircraft Crashes of Recent Years

Statistics is an impartial science. It does not belittle or embellish the details. She presents the picture as it is. The statistics of crashes in Russia is one big disappointment in domestic aviation. When you start looking at the causes of plane crashes, you often come across the phrase “pilot error” or “crew error”.

It's right. The human factor leads among the causes in Russia and the world. What are the biggest air crashes in Russia over the past 10 years? Unfortunately, there are many. And if in the United States the statistics of crashes is falling, then in Russia it is only growing. What are the main reasons for this?

So, leading by a clear margin - human factor. Insufficient and unqualified training of pilots in many ways lead to such sad results.

Airbus A330-300 of the Aeroflot company.

Many experts note that old Soviet models are still being used, which should have been written off long ago.

Another reason is the greed of airlines, saving on the quality of aircraft maintenance and the purchase of new parts and equipment.

As a result, equipment wears out, parts are not replaced, and the aircraft becomes unusable. But it is not removed from service. There are cases when the plane flew to the point of complete wear and tear, up to the catastrophe!

List of largest air crashes in Russia

Over the past few years, Russia has had quite a few very sad disasters. One of the most recent is the crash of a Tupolev Tu-154 en route to Syria, December 25, 2016. This is the biggest accident in 2016.

TU-154 from Utair.

The causes of the crash have not yet been clarified, due to the difficulty in deciphering the black boxes. It is only known that the plane crashed into the Black Sea, taking with it the lives of all passengers and crew.

March 19 of the same year a FlyDubai plane crashed on its way to Rostov-on-Don from the UAE. All people died. The causes of the disaster are still being investigated, but so far only intermediate results have been announced.

That night were difficult weather, which caused the plane to land twice. After the second time, it began to decline sharply and simply collapsed on GDP.

Biggest disaster in 2013 the fall of the Boeing 737, near Kazan. All passengers and crew were killed. The accident also occurred during the landing approach.

The reason is negligence and failure by the crew to fulfill their duties, as well as their insufficient readiness for flights.

Aircraft TU-134.

Another terrible catastrophe that occurred on the territory of Karelia, death of TU-134 when landing. The plane hit trees and crashed. One of the reasons is poor visibility in foggy conditions. 47 people died, but 5 managed to survive.

Plane crash near Yaroslavl Yak-42 led to the death of the entire Lokomotiv hockey team. In this disaster only 1 person survived. On takeoff, the plane crashed into a radio beacon and crashed on the river bank. The reason was also the unpreparedness of the crew.

Monday - April 2, 2012 turned out to be the last day for most of the passengers and crew of Utair Flight 120. Only 10 managed to survive this disaster. The accident occurred after takeoff itself, after 42 seconds.

The reason was the failure of the PIC from anti-icing treatment, which led to a deterioration in the aerodynamic capabilities of the aircraft. Plus, the crew could not notice the stalling of the aircraft in time.

Which Russian planes crash more often?

In the article on our website, you can see that the second place in the ranking of the most dangerous aircraft in the world is occupied by the IL-76, and the third - notorious - TU-154. TU-134 takes the sixth place.

Three models of Russian manufacturers were included in this list. It says something. However, for example, the same TU-154 was never decommissioned, as a result of which disasters continue to occur.

Today, on January 16, at 7.31 am in the Chui region, near the village of Zhany-Zher, where summer cottages are located, a cargo plane crashed. Boeing-747-400F flying Hong Kong - Bishkek - Istanbul. The plane crashed into residential buildings. So far, more than 30 dead are being spoken of - almost all of them are residents of summer cottages on which the plane crashed. Of the four crew members, one survived but later died in hospital.

Information about the plane crash was reported by an eyewitness who called the "112" service of the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic at 7.29. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic notified all emergency services. According to preliminary data, the aircraft belonged to MyCargo Airlines, the operator was Turkish Airlines.

She has already published a selection of major air incidents in Kyrgyzstan in recent years. The Russian agency RIA Novosti has prepared a compilation of major air crashes in the world in 2015-2017.

These are the cataclysms and disasters that took place in 2017.

The mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 on March 8, 2014 is far from the only air tragedy that raises more questions than it answers. The history of aviation knows cases when the planes also did not give a distress signal, and after the disappearance they did not leave any traces and debris. Here are just some of the most high-profile and mysterious plane crashes, which also could not do without mysticism ...

Amelia Earhart (1937)

The mystery of the last flight of Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot, is still unsolved. In 1937, Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan went missing in the central Pacific while attempting to fly around the world in a Lockheed Model 10 Electra twin-engine aircraft.

According to one version, the plane simply ran out of fuel, according to another, Amelia Earhart and Frederick Noonan were captured by the Japanese, who were building their military bases on the islands located in this part of the Pacific Ocean.

Aircraft "Cessna" (1972)

On October 16, 1972, Democratic Congressman Thomas Hale Boggs and politician Nick Begich boarded a twin-engine Cessna bound for Alaska's capital, Juneau.

However, the plane was never destined to deliver passengers to their destination - it disappeared without a trace. Even the 39-day search, which was called "the largest in the history of Alaska", because. 70 aircraft were involved in them, they did not give any results.

Various theories have been put forward as to the cause of the plane crash. It was rumored that the plane was shot down by the Serbs because of Begich's Croatian roots. Another version pointed to the political background of Boggs, who was a member of the Warren Commission.

TWA Flight 800 (1996)

A Boeing 747 flying from New York to Rome exploded mid-air and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. All 230 passengers on board died. Experts from the National Transportation Safety Board found that probable cause The plane crash was a fuel tank explosion due to faulty electrical wiring.

However, conspiracy theorists believe that the cause of the explosion was a bomb planted on board the aircraft or a collision with a US Navy missile.

In a briefing last summer, the National Safety Board confirmed that neither witness testimony, nor debris found, nor flight recorder footage support the suggestion of an aircraft colliding with a missile.

EgyptAir Flight 990 (1999)

A Boeing 767 flying between Los Angeles and Cairo crashed and fell into the Atlantic Ocean shortly after takeoff. The disaster claimed the lives of 200 people. After a 2-year investigation, it was found that the plane crash was caused by the wrong actions of the crew commander.

All the evidence collected by the National Council, including the flight path of the aircraft and data from the flight recorders, indicated that the commander and chief officer in the last minutes of their lives tried to take control of the aircraft into their own hands. The senior officer repeatedly repeated: "I rely on God." This version did not suit the Egyptian side, and she put forward her own - the cause of the disaster was a malfunction of the aircraft control system.

Air France flight 447 (2009)

This fatal aerial incident occurred in 2009 involving an Airbus A 330 flying from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. The plane with 228 passengers on board crashed into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

As in the case of the missing Malaysian aircraft, the Air France pilots did not issue a distress signal. A full-scale search and rescue operation for five days did not produce any results. Then some fragments of the tail section of the aircraft were found.

The search for the plane that crashed to the bottom of the ocean dragged on for two years. And a year later, as a result of the investigation, it was found that ice crystals blocked the aircraft's airspeed sensors - this is what led to the tragedy.

Missing Malaysian Boeing (2014)

The version of a terrorist attack still remains possible in the story of the missing Malaysian Airlines plane. According to one hypothesis, passengers aboard the ill-fated Boeing could be seriously injured or killed due to large overloads, however, those who were in the cockpit could survive and land the airliner, in order, perhaps, to lift it into the air for some reason. goals… Sergey MELNICHENKO, a member of the World Aviation Safety Foundation, spoke about how this version is being built.

- The plane took off... Literally after 40 minutes, ACARS stopped working, the crew said goodbye to the dispatcher and did not get in touch again, recalls Sergey Melnichenko. - Three minutes after the last communication on the radio, the transponder was turned off. After that, the plane turned to the left and proceeded in fact in the opposite direction, crossed Malaysia, entered the Strait of Malacca. Further, the military reported that the plane began to climb flight level 450 - this is an altitude of 15 km.

And I thought at the very beginning: if the investigators received information that someone was trying to make the plane invisible to radars and controllers, then probably they should have asked all radiotelephone communication providers, because the China region of Malaysia is known for having people there , probably only sleep without smartphones, phones, iPads, etc. This information was not available for eight days. On March 18, such information appeared. Indeed, all providers were requested and the result is this: the passengers did not even try to turn on the phone. Not to mention the transmission of SMS or attempts to call.

To be clear, the Boeing 777 is approved to fly at a maximum altitude of 43,100 feet (13.1 km). He scored 13.7 thousand km. The Americans a few days ago simulated flying a Boeing 777 at 45,000 feet and concluded that flying on autopilot was impossible. The autopilot immediately returns the plane to safe altitudes, so piloting at 45 thousand feet was carried out by a person. An American pilot who worked on the simulator said the plane became completely unstable at that altitude. The air is thin and the plane is close to stalling.

The question arises: why was this done? I'm afraid to assume ... I really don't like to speculate when a possible action or inaction is related to the life and health of people, but here one involuntarily has to assume that, as a result of malicious intent, someone raised the plane to a height that is outside the operational parameters, with the aim of depressurize the passenger compartment.

At an altitude of 15 km, 15,000 meters, or about 45,000 feet, in the event of a depressurization, a person without oxygen and without an emergency descent, which, according to all the rules, the crew must undertake, can live from 9 to 15 seconds: the blood, as they say figuratively, boils. That is, during the time when the aircraft was flying at such an extremely high flight level, the health of passengers could be either too serious, or irreparably damaged. After that, the plane descended very sharply with a high vertical speed to flight level 230 (that's 23,000 feet).

The speed at which this plane was descending suggests that the pressure on people was very serious. If someone was alive, then it could just be a load that the person could not stand. Further, the Malay military say that the plane scored flight level 295 and disappeared somewhere from the field of view of military locators. The situation is very serious. This speaks of the criminal intentions of the person or people who performed it.

This may indicate that one person was hardly behind the thought of such a blasphemous plan. And it is unlikely that one person could spontaneously perform such actions. A lot of preparation was required. It was necessary to determine at what point to turn off everything, it was necessary to determine the procedure for climbing to an exceptionally high level and with a sharp descent.

If the ship was hijacked, then it was hijacked for some subsequent purpose. The fact that today already 26 states are participating in the search indicates concern about the fate of the aircraft. If an airliner has managed to land somewhere already with inanimate people, then there is a danger that it will someday take off somewhere, and none of us knows what it will have on board. The fact that all terrorist organizations are silent also makes one wonder. Maybe their plan hasn't been completed yet? I have such a concern.

- When the altitude drops began, the pilots themselves could survive and fly the plane, right?

- Pilots or the pilot or the person who was in the cockpit. This person could put on an oxygen mask and could, if he knows how to turn off all those systems that we talked about, make sure that oxygen masks do not fall out in emergency mode. And he himself could perform his functions.

Many people prefer to get to a particular region with the help of an airliner, because it is much more convenient and faster to travel by air than by train. According to statistics every 2-3 seconds a plane lands and takes off in the world. Is it worth it to give in to fear when you go on board an airplane? How often do planes crash? Such questions always torment passengers, especially those who rarely fly an aircraft.

Everyone fears for their lives, so it is not surprising why such questions arise. If you look at the news, which constantly talk about some kind of disaster, and often associated with air travel, then immediately there is no desire to go somewhere. Of course, there is always danger. Even while staying at home, there is a risk of death, for example, from a gas leak. Thus, to fly or not to fly on aircraft is a very controversial issue, and here everyone decides for himself what is best for him to do. In order to understand how many airliners get into a disaster, consider the statistics.

How many planes crash a year is a question that interests many people, even those who are not going on a flight. You can provide the following data:

  1. According to statistics, about 10,000 airliners take off into the sky every day.
  2. Approximately 4.5 billion people fly in aircraft, which is more than half of the world's population.
  3. Of these, about 1,000 people die in air crashes.
  4. In 100 years of passenger aviation, 150,000 people have died.

This figure is several times less than the number of victims in traffic accidents per month. So which one is safer to ride? The answer is obvious. In road accidents, people die much more often, so driving in cars is much more life-threatening than flying in airplanes.

According to statistics, since 2009 there have been 107 air crashes, with 3,245 passengers killed.

How often do planes crash in Russia?

Unfortunately, our country occupies a leading position in the ranking of countries that have experienced the largest number of air accidents. This is due to the fact that Russia is the largest power in the world. If we take the statistics from 2009, then in the Russian Federation there was the largest number of accidents related to airliners - 38 pieces. They killed 378 people. This is followed by America, where 11 accidents have occurred in the last 6 years. If we take into account the data for the entire existence civil aviation, then the first place is occupied by the United States of America.

  • Russia (38 accidents);
  • USA (11 for the period);
  • Ukraine (7 in 6 years);
  • Congo (6 over the same period);
  • Germany (4 disasters in 2010).

What planes crash the most?

If we talk about which planes crash most often, here you need to give a rating of the most dangerous airliners. So the list is:

  1. Boeing 737. This passenger aircraft was recognized as the most dangerous, as several plane crashes occurred on it.
  2. IL-76. A terrible accident happened on this aircraft 13 years ago and claimed a lot of human lives.
